American TV presenter Samantha Brown will showcase Ireland in her award-winning travel programme, Places to Love. Two episodes filmed here will air early next year to millions of people across the United States during prime time on PBS.
Places to Love showcases lesser-known spots and haunts in different destinations and Tourism Ireland invited Samantha Brown to film at a number of locations around Ireland including King John's Castle, Foynes Flying Boat & Maritime Museum, The Burren Perfumery and The Burren Smokehouse. Filming was supported by Fáilte Ireland and Tourism NI.
Alison Metcalfe, Tourism Ireland’s Head of North America, said: “Tourism Ireland was delighted to invite Samantha Brown to come and film two episodes of ‘Places to Love’ in Ireland. The episodes will be seen by millions of people across the United States, shining a spotlight on some of the many things to see and do here and encouraging American holidaymakers to put Ireland on their vacation ‘wish-list’ for 2023.”
Tourism Ireland is rolling out a new ‘twinning’ initiative in 2022, which involves each overseas market ‘twinning’ with a specific region or area on the island of Ireland – placing a special focus on the area. The United States is twinned with Limerick and Clare and with the Causeway Coastal Route. Samantha’s visit is a great opportunity to secure excellent positive coverage about these ‘twinned’ areas.
