Philip Erskine has recently been appointed as Business Development Manager at the Granville Hotel Waterford. Originally from Wexford, Philip studied Hospitality Management in South East Technological University, and completed his Masters of Science in Hospitality Management in Technological University Dublin.
During his studies he worked in several hotels including the Ferrycarrig and Ashford Castle Hotels, before starting his career in the Granville Hotel. Philip has been employed at the Granville Hotel since 2015, and has worked many positions, including Porter, Restaurant, Housekeeping and Bar, gaining valuable experience across many departments. In 2017 Philip took up a position as Receptionist and was then promoted to Reception Manager in 2021. In 2019 Philip was named IHF South East Branch ‘Employee of the Year’.
Philip’s role as Business Development Manager is to grow different areas of the business as the hotel strives to increase local meetings, events, conference, corporate business and incentive groups. He will be responsible for managing the relationships of accounts, both local and national in these markets in order to develop new business for the hotel.
