2023 has been a year to celebrate at The Galmont Hotel & Spa, with three fantastic accolades awarded in recognition of the business’s strides in sustainability, and drive to be one of Galway’s best employers.

In September, the venue located in the heart of the city received the Green Tourism Bronze Award, acknowledging its active work to become more sustainable. The prestigious award is widely regarded as an indicator of good environmentally-friendly practice and a hallmark of ‘green quality’ that is sought by increasingly eco-minded visitors.

A further two awards paid tribute to the hotel’s ‘above and beyond’ attitude when it comes to looking after its 250 employees. In addition to being certified as a Great Place to Work following positive feedback from its team, The Galmont Hotel & Spa is now officially certified as an Excellent Employer by Fáilte Ireland’s Employer Excellence Programme.

Speaking about the multiple accreditations, General Manager Stefan Lundstrom said: “The tourism and hospitality industry has not had it easy in recent years but what’s hugely important to us at The Galmont is that we’re continuously looking to the future and how we can make that a brighter place for both our guests and our employees. Sustainability plays a huge role in this and our team has worked incredibly hard to implement greener practices. It has therefore been truly rewarding for all involved to see those efforts recognised by the Green Tourism Bronze Award.”
