Carton House inducted into Historic Hotels Worldwide

Carton House, A Fairmont Managed Hotel, has been inducted into Historic Hotels Worldwide, the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation (United States of America) for recognising and celebrating the finest historic hotels around the globe.

Historic Hotels Worldwide promotes heritage and cultural travel by featuring a prestigious collection of historic treasures including historic hotels and other historic lodgings spanning more than 10 centuries in 47 countries around the world.

Hotels inducted into Historic Hotels Worldwide® are authentic historic treasures, demonstrate historic preservation and celebrate historic significance. The hotels encourage revitalisation and enhance preservation of magnificent architectural and cultural legacies.

The organisation’s website, HistoricHotelsWorldwide.com, provides a global historic emphasis celebrating the finest historic independent to hotels from all hotel brands, chains, and collections.

Located in Kildare, Carton House, A Fairmont Managed Hotel, is a brilliant holiday destination rich in history. Its origins harken back to the early 18th century, when Robert FitzGerald, 19th Earl of Kildare, developed the current structure. The timeless Palladian mansion is set on 1,100 acres of sweeping Kildare parkland waiting for cultural heritage travellers to explore its history and heritage, its nature and wildlife, its flora and fauna.
