Leopardstown Racecourse has unveiled Cashel Palace Hotel as the official sponsor of the Group 3 Derby Trial Stakes which will take place on Sunday, 12th May 2024.
The mile-and-two-furlong contest for three-year-olds serves as a vital precursor to Group One and Classic success with its role of honour including subsequent Epsom Derby winners Sinndar, Galileo and High Chaparral along with four-time Ascot Gold Cup winner Yeats and ‘Arc’ hero Dylan Thomas.
The Cashel Palace Hotel Derby Trial sponsorship comes on the back of a much-coveted Michelin Star being awarded to the hotel’s fine dining restaurant The Bishop’s Buttery. Set within a magnificent regal manor dating back to 1732, and with views of the iconic Rock of Cashel, this landmark address has been meticulously restored to create a truly desirable destination hotel in the heart of Ireland.
Tim Husbands, CEO Leopardstown Racecourse, commented “We are delighted to welcome Cashel Palace Hotel as the sponsor of the Derby Trial Stakes. Their support and partnership will add a new dimension to this event and further enhance the experience for participants and spectators alike. We would also like to congratulate them for their recently received Michelin Star”.
"We are delighted with this inaugural opportunity to sponsor the Derby Trial Stakes and it is an honour to partner with Leopardstown Racecourse for this prestigious event. We are very much looking forward to representing Cashel Palace Hotel on the day, meeting our fellow spectators and making new friends within the racing world." Adriaan Bartels, General Manager Cashel Palace Hotel.
This event promises to be an unforgettable occasion for racing enthusiasts, industry professionals, and hotel guests alike.
