Glenlo Abbey Hotel & Estate has recently completed renovations on its deluxe rooms and suites just in time to welcome guests for the autumn season. Over the past six months, substantial upgrades have been made to 10 Corrib Deluxe bedrooms, 10 Garden Deluxe bedrooms, a Junior Suite, 3 Grand Suites, and the Presidential Suite. The new look for the Presidential Suite will be revealed later this year.
Rónán O’Halloran General Manager of the hotel commented, “It is tremendous to see our vision and delivery of the significant programme of enhancements come to light. Following the unveiling of our luxury Lodges and brand-new kitchen for the iconic Pullman Restaurant, it is safe to say we are well on our way to creating a truly luxurious destination in the West of Ireland.”
Millimetre Design, the interior designers, collaborated closely with the hotel owners and management to precisely create the deluxe bedrooms and suites. The Corrib Deluxe bedrooms feature a blend of natural classical design with contemporary elements, drawing powerful inspiration from Lough Corrib and the surrounding estate grounds. The classic contemporary style is boldly highlighted by a calming duck egg blue and taupe colour scheme, creating a tranquil atmosphere for guests. The custom-designed carpet forms an unyielding neutral base, boldly complemented by silk effect wallcoverings and luxurious fabrics with a mix of patterns and textures. Local skilled joiners produced the bedroom case goods, custom-designed in rich dark oak with brass detailing. The traditional elegance is enhanced by feature ceiling pendants and lamps.
The design of the Suites is influenced by the rich history of the Main Manor House, which dates to 1740. Each suite has a traditional style and spacious layout with high ceilings. The colour scheme features gold tones, which are reflected in the custom-designed carpet, damask wallcoverings, and rich, heavy curtains. These elements frame stunning views of the walled garden and Lough Corrib. Luxurious fabrics are used in the bespoke furniture and soft furnishings, all crafted by expert local upholsterers. The newly designed drinks cabinets and TV units complement the existing antiques, creating a rich and harmonious interior.
