Chloe Twomey, Head of Front Office & Reservations Standards and Procedures at Cork's Vienna Woods Hotel has been announced as the 23/24 Irish Hotels Federation Cork Branch ‘Employee of the Year’ at a special awards lunch in the Kingsley Hotel. A ‘Rising Star Award’ was also presented to Cian Daly, Head Bar Tender and Bar Supervisor at Hotel Isaacs Cork City and a ‘Customer Service Award’ was presented to Jude Ward, Receptionist at The Old Bank Townhouse.
Over 70 guests attended the event to celebrate and recognise 18 nominees from hotels and guesthouses across Cork who have made an outstanding contribution to their workplace.
Congratulating Chloe on the award, IHF Cork Branch Chair, Joe Kennedy said that the judges highlighted her knowledge of the hotel’s operations, ambassadorship of Cork and ability to introduce innovative ideas when selecting her as the winner.
Chloe first joined Cork's Vienna Woods Hotel as a Receptionist in 2021, progressing to Head of Front Office & Reservations Standards and Procedures in May of 2023. Chloe’s colleagues say that she is always willing to share knowledge with her teammates, always goes the extra mile to make guests’ stays special and puts a smile on the face of everyone she meets.
IHF Cork Branch extends its gratitude to the expert judging panel comprised of Michael Vaughan (Vaughan Lodge Hotel and IHF Past President) and Celine Ryan (Shannon College of Hotel Management), who had the difficult job of selecting a winner from the nominees.
The members of the IHF Cork Branch now wish Chloe the very best of luck as she goes on to represent them at the upcoming National IHF Employee of the Year Awards which will be held during the IHF's Annual Conference in February 2024.
