The iNUA Collection are proud to announce that two of their team members were part of the Junior Ireland Team at the 2024 International Culinary Olympics that took place in Stuttgart, Germany from February 3rd to February 7th this year, receiving bronze in the competition.
Evan Duane, Commis Chef who is training at The Tullamore Court Hotel and Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa, Sligo and Seth Caslin Commis Chef who is training at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Athlone, joined a team of nine chefs from across Ireland, who battled it out against 66 teams of 24 other nations to take the bronze medal in the Restaurant of Nations category.
Taking place every four years, the international Culinary Olympics tasked the Ireland team to cook a three-course menu for 75 people and were graded by a team of judges on their service, presentation and the overall taste of the dishes, with the highest marks going towards consistency on each plate that has been served.
Stefan Matz, Group Executive Chef for The iNUA Collection and Cliste Hospitality, who has been training both Evan and Seth, said: “This was a wonderful achievement for Evan, Seth and the Junior Team to achieve at such an early stage of their career. I was privileged to see the team in action in their heats being judged by acclaimed and experienced chefs, both men made me very proud. Well done to Evan, Seth and the whole Ireland team.”
Speaking about the competition and bronze accolade, Evan Duane Trainee Chef shared ”It was an honour to get the opportunity to represent The iNUA Collection in Germany, helping me to grow my career within this competitive industry. I am only six months into my traineeship with The iNUA Collection and it has been a great experience so far, I have already learnt so much from my mentor, Group Executive Chef Stefan Matz and all of the culinary team.”
