He joins from The Condor at the Chateau du Coudreceau in France where he spent five years as Head Chef
 Wed 27th March 2024

The K Club in County Kildare is delighted to announce that Gary O’Hanlon has been appointed as the resort’s new Executive Head Chef. The award-winning Irish chef, broadcaster and columnist has taken the position at the iconic five star estate following five years as Head Chef of The Condor at the world-famous Chateau du Coudreceau in France. Prior to that, Gary was Head Chef of Viewmount House, Co. Longford from its opening in August 2008 through to 2018 where he racked up a wealth of awards. He was the deserving recipient of the revered Georgina Campbell Hospitality Hero Award for services to Irish food.

Originally from Ramelton, near Letterkenny, Gary has been a frequent fixture on our TV screens since 2008 with appearances on MasterChef Ireland, Four Live, The Today Show, Late Lunch Live, The Six O Clock Show, and is the resident Chef on ‘The Restaurant’. He also co-hosts the Podcast ‘Dishing It Out’ alongside fellow chef Gareth Mullins.

The K Club’s General Manager Paul Heery says: “We are very excited to welcome Gary into his new role at The K Club. We welcome Gary’s knowledge in seeking out the very best in locally produced seasonal ingredients, helping to continue to drive the food offering at The K Club.

“We feel very privileged to have such a talented chef as the newest member of The K Club family who will take over the baton and continue all the incredible work done over the years by our outgoing Executive Head Chef Philip Brazil, as well as bringing some of his own fresh, new ideas to the table and supporting the team.”

Gary O’Hanlon adds: “If you’d told my younger self I would one day be Executive Head Chef at The K Club I wouldn’t have believed you. The K Club is a shining example of hospitality in Ireland and one that I feel very proud to have been asked to become a part of. Whilst it’s an historic venue, the team is full of fresh thinking and doesn’t shy away from new ideas and I’m very excited to see where this journey takes us!”
