Killashee Hotel has been a long-standing supporter of Debra - The Butterfly Skin Charity since the opening of their beautiful Butterfly Garden dedicated to the charity in 2012. It was inspired by Emma Fogarty, an EB sufferer who dreamed of having a garden in a location where those affected by EB could go to and enjoy peace and tranquillity.
Emma celebrates her 40th Birthday this year and to mark this significant milestone, Killashee have introduced a special fundraising Butterfly Afternoon Tea and will donate €2.50 per person to Debra for every afternoon tea served in July and August. The Afternoon Tea features a selection of delicious sweet and savoury treats with a choice of teas and coffees. After indulging in afternoon tea, guests are encouraged to take a stroll in Emma’s Butterfly Garden on the grounds, a serene sanctuary she dreamed of for those affected by EB.
Emma’s 40th birthday is nothing short of a miracle and is a story of hope. People born with the same type of EB as Emma do not tend to live past 35 years of age. Now, as a Debra Patient Ambassador representing the voice of the EB community, she is on a mission to transform the future for people who suffer with EB in Ireland, so that everyone with skin as fragile as a butterfly’s wing can live the longest, fullest life possible. Help make Emma’s birthday wish come true with a special donation. Together, we can create a brighter future for those with EB in Ireland!
