The Skeffington Arms Hotel in Eyre Square, Galway City, recently embarked on an ambitious renovation of each their rooms. The project saw Curator Paints, an Irish supplier of highest quality paint products and colours team up with accomplished international designer Garry Cohn, owner of COHN Architecture & Interior Design.
Ashling Dudley, Chief Operating Officer explains: “I had attended a course which Garry was running in conjunction with the IHF Skillnet series which was all based around hotel design. That course sparked off our whole renovation as we had been itching to do something and found the person who could bring it all to life.”
We wanted to create a more boutique, cosmopolitan look to our hotel which embodied the personality of our team, Galway city and our Bar, The Skeff and boy did Garry deliver. He blew us away with the design concept that he created.

Live music is a huge part of what we do in The Skeff and that is now the focal point in each room with lyrics adorning the ceiling. Each bedroom also contains unique one-off pieces of art from local Irish artists. Our hotel now has a personality that we can shout about, and our guests have been embracing our new look and vibe. We are already welcoming guests into our new look rooms and the response has been amazing.
We absolutely must mention the very talented AJ Painting who worked tirelessly to bring Garry's concept to life. Their attention to detail and work ethic has to be commended.”
