rigon Hotels have been commended for their commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace for their team. The Cork-based hotel group has achieved Investors in Diversity Silver status by the Irish Centre for Diversity.

To achieve Silver certification, the hotel group's performance at both the Metropole Hotel and the Cork International Hotel was monitored and benchmarked against national organisations.

Investors in Diversity provides a framework that’s built over three levels – Bronze, Silver and Gold - and is designed to guide an organisation towards excellence in the workplace on Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement.

In order to gain Investors in Diversity Silver accreditation, Trigon Hotels undertook a number of assessments and commitments including rolling out an inclusion and diversity survey for all colleagues, collecting the diversity demographics and putting an action plan in place for developments.

Kathleen Linehan, Strategic Director of HR at Trigon Hotels, said: “We are delighted to receive Investors in Diversity Silver accreditation. We undertook the commitment to assess the hotel group and work on a programme evaluation to achieve this status. Our people are our greatest asset and I am pleased to create a diverse, happy environment where the team can grow. To achieve the award we were benchmarked against other organisations nationally so I am very proud of our performance. The award also gives us a framework and goal to excel going forward.”
