Janet Moore, Director/General Manager, The Mespil Hotel, Dublin has been elected Chair of the Dublin Branch of the Irish Hotels Federation (IHF), which represents hotels and guesthouses across Dublin City and County.
In a hotel career spanning over two decades with the Lee Hotel Group, Janet was appointed General Manager of The Mespil Hotel in 2018 and subsequently Director in 2022. An active member of the IHF for many years, she brings extensive experience to the role of Branch Chair having previously served as Secretary of the branch. Janet is a hotel management graduate of the GMIT, now Atlantic Technological University (ATU) Galway.
Commenting on her election as Branch Chair, Janet says: “It is a great honour to have been elected Chair of the Dublin Branch of the Irish Hotels Federation. Hotels and guesthouses throughout Dublin make such a vital contribution to tourism and the economy of the Capital and our country. I look forward to representing members and working closely with my IHF colleagues to engage with Government and industry partners to promote our industry and address the challenges we face, including the very high costs of doing business within our sector.”

“On behalf of my colleagues and fellow hoteliers in Dublin, I wish to acknowledge and thank Jonas Treffers for his leadership and the immense commitment he has demonstrated throughout his tenure as Dublin Branch Chair. During this time, he has provided a strong voice for local hotels, advocating on behalf of our sector and wider tourism industry here in Dublin.”
IHF President Michael Magner says: “I want to congratulate Janet on her election. Her commitment to our sector and extensive experience are a tremendous asset to the IHF as we continue to advocate for members at the highest levels of Government. As Ireland’s largest indigenous employer, tourism plays a vital role supporting over 270,000 livelihoods including some 77,000 jobs throughout Dublin City and County. It is therefore critical that the right conditions are in place to deliver a sustained recovery for our sector so that our wider tourism industry lives up to its full potential. I look forward to working with Janet during her term to deliver our key priorities in relation to economic growth, leadership in sustainability and supporting people development within our sector.”
